TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital earns national recognition for stroke care

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital is receiving national recognition for stroke care.
According to a release by the hospital on Monday, TriStar Greenview received the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines – Stroke Gold Plus with Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite and Target Type 2 Diabetes quality achievement awards.
The release says the recognition shows the hospital’s “commitment to providing stroke patients with high-quality, evidence-based care that improves patient outcomes and reduces disability.”
Stroke is the fifth leading cause of death and is a primary cause of disability in the United States, the hospital states. Health officials say a stroke occurs when blood flow to the brain is blocked by a clot or bursts, causing brain cell death.
Early detection and treatment are key to improving survival, minimizing disability and accelerating recovery times.
“At TriStar Greenview, our commitment to delivering exceptional stroke care remains stronger than ever,” said Mike Sherrod, chief executive officer of TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital. “Providing safe, high-quality care is a responsibility we take seriously every day. We strive for excellence through continuous education, collaboration and providing resources to our clinical teams because those investments lead to better outcomes for our patients and the communities we serve.”
