Toys for Tots registration and donation boxes are still open

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Toys for Tots is still collecting toys and is still taking names for people in need of toys.

From teething toys to puzzles and slime kits, the local Toys for Toys organizers are very busy preparing for Christmas.

Still, the local Toys for Tots organization needs toys for children ages 10 to 12 as well as for babies and toddlers.

They currently have quite a few toys for the ages in between in their storage room.

This year is on par to be the busiest year yet for the local organization with over 8,000 kids expected to be served for the 10-county region.

“We service ages 0 to 12 and a lot of people don’t think of 10 and 12-year-olds as tot’s but they are. For some children, this could be their only Christmas, and that’s what we have to keep in mind. Situations change, things change. Maybe that child that was 12 got a toy last year, this year they may not,” said Doyle.

The last day to donate or sign up to receive for the 2021 Christmas program is December 15.

The first group of recipients will receive their toys this Saturday at the Toys for Tots North Pole.
