Three injured in hazmat incident on Three Springs Road
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Three people were injured when a truck hauling asphalt tar overturned Wednesday morning on Three Springs Road.
First responders were called to the scene at about 10:53 a.m. on Three Springs Road near Prospect Lane. No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
Warren County Emergency Management, Bowling Green Fire Department, Woodburn Fire Department and the Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call.
The truck driver and two occupants were taken by ambulance to The Medical Center at Bowling Green, Warren County Sheriff Brett Hightower said.
An environmental clean up company has been called in to scoop up what asphalt they can from any grassy areas or shoulder, Warren County Emergency Management Director Ronnie Pearson said. The state Environmental Protection Agency will determine what to do with the asphalt that spilled on the roadway, he said.
