The Salvation Army to offer cooling center if temperatures surpass 95 degrees

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -The Salvation Army of Bowling Green is offering a way out of extreme heat.

The Salvation Army Center for Hope says it will open its dining room if outside temperatures or the heat index hit 95 degrees or more for an extended period of time.

The room will offer a place to cool off and get water from a brand new water bottle filling station.

To help cooling efforts, the Salvation Army is accepting donations of bottled water, popsicles, small portable fans, Gatorade powder packs, sunscreen and cooling towels.

You can find the Salvation Army at 400 W. Main St. in Bowling Green.
