Teen accused of stealing business vehicle

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green teen is accused of stealing a business vehicle.

At 5:21 a.m. Warren County Sheriff’s Deputies saw a suspicious vehicle was on Plum Springs Road.

The vehicle was registered to B & R Electrical on Kelly Road.

Officials discovered there was damage to the fence behind the business that looked like a vehicle had driven through the gate.

Officials made contact on Plum Springs Road with Justin McKinney, 18, of Bowling Green, according to a release posted to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.

McKinney was also identified through video footage from the business.

He was arrested and lodged at the Warren County Regional Jail and charged with theft by unlawful taking auto – $500 or more but under $10,000 and seondd-degree criminal mischief.

The investigation is ongoing.

According to sheriff’s department, the theft of commercial and farm vehicles, as well as thefts from new construction homes, have seen a rise in Warren County in the past few months.
