Tail-wagging for National Puppy Day

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Today is National Puppy Day.

WNKY News talked to the Bowling Green Warren County Humane Society about the tail-wagging day.

Lorri Hare, director of the local Humane Society, says they are almost always at full capacity.

They get lots of puppies, but they are always the first to be adopted. She said the best days to come to adopt are Saturdays and Sundays.

Hare said puppies are the best because they are so full of unconditional love. But she said they celebrate them not just today.

“We celebrate puppies 365 days a year, but there’s no better day to bring attention to certain things. And what’s cuter than a lot of puppies or the smell of puppy breath or just being able to play with puppies all day long,” said Hare.

Hare said even if they don’t have puppies, they have a lot of other great teenager and adult animals ready to find their forever homes.
