Staying safe on the road this Thanksgiving
GLASGOW, Ky. – As we head into the holiday travel season, there are a few safety tips you should keep in mind.
The Glasgow Police Department is sharing some advice on how to keep yourself and others safe on the road.
They say as you prepare to travel, try to leave a little earlier. Lots of traffic is expected this weekend.
In addition, there may be alcohol at your holiday parties. Be sure to designate a responsible driver if you plan to drink.
“During the holiday season, not only here in Glasgow but around the state and the nation, the DUIs, that’s what we are looking for out there on the roadways, and they seem to be piking up in our area when it comes to holiday season,” said Terry Flatt of the Glasgow Police Department.
Other tips include vehicle maintenance, making sure your car is up to for the journey and exercising patience in high volume traffic.
