Man accused of home invasion rape in Franklin
FRANKLIN, Ky. – An elderly woman told Kentucky State Police Monday that man broke into her home and raped her.
Kentucky State Police Post spoke to the woman at The Medical Center at Franklin. She said the man unlawfully entered her home, attempted to put handcuffs on her, held her down with his hands and body and sexually assaulted her at 2:30 a.m. Monday, according to the man’s arrest citation.
Investigators determined that a family member, John D. Ellis, 65 of Franklin was their suspect in the sexual assault, according to his arrest citation.
Wednesday, Ellis was reported missing after not being seen for 24 hours, according to his citation. Ellis returned home Wednesday night.
Thursday Ellis made a self incriminating statement to state police, according to his arrest citation.
Ellis is charged with second-degree burglary, kidnapping of an adult and first-degree rape. He is being lodged in the Simpson County Detention Center.
