SKYCTC art class creates ‘big heads’

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- Little kids love to dress up and trick or treat on Halloween…some of the big kids are joining in on the fun in a slightly different way!

An art class at SKYCTC has spent a month designing ‘big heads’. The project was inspired by the famous artist Wayne White, who is the set designer for Pee-Wee’s playhouse.

Today, they paraded around campus wearing their final project. They’re completely made out of cardboard and glue, and they do fit on your head.

“They’re not meant to be realistic at all, they have some spaces and some gaps, but it’s almost like a cubist feel in a lot of cases. They’re pieced together almost abstractly,” said professor David Jones.

They do the project every year to learn about construction and creativity.
