SKY Soccer has strong showing at state level

ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. – After qualifying seven squads for the 2026 Kentucky State Cup and the Kentucky Challenge Cup, Southern Kentucky (SKY) Soccer Club represented the area very well over the weekend.

For two teams, wins at the Elizabethtown Sports Park secured their spot in the 2026 US Youth Soccer National Championships.

The 2012 Boys (U14) squad was crowned champions of their State Cup division, while the 2010 Boys (U16) rounded out as State Cup finalists.

Both will compete in Salt Lake City, UT in July.

For the other five teams, it was a strong run showcasing their skills amongst the best of the best in the Bluegrass.

The 2015 Boys (U11) and the 2014 Girls (U12) finished as Challenge Cup finalists, the 2008/2009 Girls (U19) and 2013 Girls (U13) finished as State Cup semi-finalists, and the 2015 Girls (U11) finished as Challenge Cup semi-finalists.
