Roundabouts coming to Westen Avenue
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – If you frequent Westen Avenue in Bowling Green, road construction is in your future.
The Westen Avenue Project is a city run project that will fund design, property acquisition, and construction of three roundabouts.
The roundabouts will be at the intersections with Rockinham Avenue, Patrick Way and Highland Way.
The goal is to improve traffic flow and pedestrian safety and comes after similar projects were successful in the 2020 fiscal year.
Roundabouts allow traffic to continue flowing rather than constantly stopping at stop signs.
The city is also looking into the possibility of adding a roundabout at the intersection of Westen and Ashely Circle if the funding allows.
Funding for this projects will be over half of a million dollars.
Construction start and dates have not yet been set.
