Red Cross Blood Shortage
June 14th marks World Blood Donor Day, but, the American Red Cross says that last month they didn’t receive as many blood donations as needed.
The Red Cross collected over 26,000 fewer blood donations than needed in May to meet the needs of patients.
The need for blood is constant, with someone needing a blood transfusion in the U.S. every two seconds. And platelet donors are especially needed at this time.
You can help patients by making an appointment to give blood or platelets now and in the weeks ahead.
There are several places in Warren County where you can donate later this month.
One location is the Sloan convention center on the 16th, 21st, and 23rd.
