Realtors set records in May

Realtor Association of Southern Kentucky

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The REALTOR® Association of Southern Kentucky’s May sales numbers once again set records. REALTORS® set the all-time monthly sales volume record, reaching $74,647,006, up 43.5% from May 2020.

There were 328 residential units sold this May, with May 2020 reaching 211 units sold. The average sale price for a residential home came in at $227,582 compared to $199,870 in May of 2020.

Residential inventory has dropped over 60% from last year, as there were only 314 active listings as of May 31. One benefit to the increase of demand and decline of inventory is the average days on the market dipped to an average of 85 days, 36 days less than May of 2020.

“May was the biggest sales month for volume ever in our area,” said REALTOR® Association of Southern Kentucky, President Kenny Cravens. “Although inventory was slightly less than last month, it did not drop as drastically as it has the past few months. That being said, with home values continuing to rise, and inventory still tight, now is the perfect time to sell. Additionally, buyers still have the advantage of low interest rates.”
