Raider pitching standouts sign to play college baseball

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Monday afternoon over at Warren East High School, a pair of top-notch Raider baseball seniors signed their letters of intent to continue playing the sport in college.

Andrew Barbalas and Brooks Vincent have excelled athletically and academically in their time at Warren East, and Monday they were celebrated by friends and family as they signed the dotted line.

Barbalas is headed to Wabash Valley College to join the Warriors pitching staff.

In the 2026 season, he’s struck out 32 in 18 innings of work, and he also leads East in batting average hitting .354 this year.

He spoke after putting pen to paper on what the day meant for him and how much he’s looking forward to the start of the postseason.

“ It’s pretty exciting. I’ve been working to get to this direction all my life, pretty much. I’ve played since I was eight years old, so this is a really big deal for me,” Barbalas said.

“I feel like we’re starting to get our bats going a little bit better, and hopefully we can snatch these W’s up.”

On the same topic, Brooks Vincent has won plenty of games across his Raider career.

His senior season has seen one of the more dominant stretches in school history, as he’s currently top five in the state in ERA.

He’s set to join another Raider team, the Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders, and he talked about his decision to move to Columbia, Kentucky, along with how special it’s been to play under head coach Wes Sanford at Warren East.

“ I chose this school because it’s close to home, really good program, lots of guys from East and other schools around here went, and they all seem to like it,” Vincent said.

“It’s really meant a lot. It’s helped me to really grow as an athlete and as a person in general, and I really liked it.”
