Practice driving course to resume at NCM Motorsports Park
BOWLING GREEN, KY- The Traffic Safety Education Foundation (TSEF), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, in cooperation with NCM Motorsports Park, resumes Practice Driving Course events with March, April and May dates.
The Practice Driving Course is a free program. The program is targeted at the parents of learner drivers, 17 years and under, driving on a permit. Plus, drivers 18 years or older are welcome to participate, with or without a parent or guardian being present. Parents doing supervised driving time with a child is “the” best practice, to prepare them for safer driving. This course also provides an excellent opportunity for licensed drivers to brush up on their driving skills and is open to licensed drivers of all ages.
Each session runs for 2 hours and there are 3 sessions per day (on select dates). Traffic Safety expert and 5-time championship-winning professional race driver Andy Pilgrim will lead each 45min classroom orientation session. After the classroom, there will be plenty of on-course time with Andy and other professional instructors. Sessions begin with classroom orientations: 10am, 1pm and 3pm.
“The “basics” of driving are the building blocks everyone needs to be a safer driver.” Pilgrim said, “We teach the basics with a parent present and that is critical. How much a parent is involved in teaching their child to drive, is directly proportional to the safety level of that child when they start to drive on their own.
The Practice Driving Course is held on selected weekends and Tuesdays, at the NCM Motorsports Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Attendees bring their own vehicle which lends a sense of familiarity with driver controls and environment.
Advanced online registration is required, class sizes are limited to 10 participants. All participants must have a valid driving permit at minimum or driver’s license. A guardian must be present for participants 17 years or younger.
