Police K-9 helps locate a half pound of meth in Nicholasville

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. – One man is behind bars after a half pound of methamphetamine was allegedly found during a traffic stop in Nicholasville.

According to a social media post by the Nicholasville Police Department, on Thursday, Nicholasville police and the Jessamine County Sheriff’s Department, along with its K-9, Merlin, conducted an operation that resulted in a traffic stop.

Authorities say this resulted in the discovery of about a half pound of methamphetamine.

As a result, police say 31-year-old Cherokee Williams of Lexington was taken into custody and charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine).

He remains at the Jessamine County Detention Center.
