Over The Edge fundraiser to be held Saturday to support Barren River Area Child Advocacy Center
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – If you see people scaling Stadium Park Plaza on Saturday, don’t be alarmed. The event is a major fundraiser for the Barren River Area Child Advocacy Center.
Over The Edge is a yearly fundraiser where sponsors and individuals can send a person to scale the five story building, all for a great cause.
That cause is to help fund BRACAC which serves children who have suffered physical or sexual abuse.
This year, they have raised the most money of any other Over The Edge fundraiser in the past at over $103,000.
“We tell people when they say, you know, ‘I’m really afraid of heights,’ and we can give them a little backstory of what some of the kids are coming in here and telling us and how brave they are being, that if they can overcome that we want to take a physical step to show, you know, we can do, we can overcome something that we are afraid of to really rally for these kids,” said Sabrina Durbin, the community outreach coordinator at BRACAC.
If you want in on the fun, there are still three spots left. The price to scale is $1,000, but people wanting to join can host a last minute fundraiser on line to try to raise the funds.
The last time to sign up is Friday at close of business.
