Nostalgia rolls into town with National Hot Rod Association reunion
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- It’s one of the greatest nostalgia events in the country – the NHRA Holley Hot Rod Reunion is going on this weekend at the Beech Bend Raceway.
Thousands of Hot Rods came into Bowling Green this weekend from all over the country. Beech Bend Park is packed. Martin Getz, Executive Director of the NHRA MotorSports Museum, says that he expects over 20,000 spectators between the event’s start on Thursday and its last day on Saturday.
Some of the events on the days include Hot Heads, Top Fuel & Funny Car, Legends Autograph session and Show n’ Shine.
Getz said everyone is all smiles as they reminisce on the cars of their younger years.
“People are very excited, and I think some people are having some really good memories about their past. I hear a lot of these guys saying ‘ah man I had one of those in high school, I remember those days’ so that’s kinda what this is about, it’s nostalgia,” said Getz.
You can get tickets online here. Spectator gates open at 8 a.m. Saturday.
