New exhibit to be unveiled Memorial Day at Aviation Heritage Park

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – On Monday, you can meet a space shuttle astronaut as a new exhibit is unveiled at the Aviation Heritage Park.

The public is invited to see the Space Shuttle Atlantis Exhibit for free at noon, according to the park.

Space shuttle astronaut Col. Terry Wilcutt will be attending the event and meeting with the community.

Wilcutt is a Logan County native and WKU graduate. Wilcutt piloted two Space Shuttle missions and Commanded two others (STS-106 Atlantis and STS-89 Endeavor).

The park will unveil a 1:15 scale model of the Space Shuttle Atlantis donated to AHP by NASA and restored by master craftsman Chris Bowling.

Aviation Heritage Park is open during daylight hours. The Museum is open 10 am – 2 pm.
