New Covid-19 cases and deaths increase locally
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Governor Andy Beshear announced 135 new confirmed positive coronavirus cases on Thursday, which brings the statewide total to 8,286.
Beshear also reported a total of 10 people have passed away over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Kentuckians who have died from Covid-19 to 386.
On a positive note, Beshear announced a total of 166,240 tests have been administered across the state and 3,008 people have recovered from the virus thus far.
Three counties in the WNKY viewing area are reporting additional deaths since the last update on Tuesday. Barren County and Simpson County are each reporting one new death, and Warren County is reporting an additional two deaths.
Warren county has also reported another double-digit increase of confirmed positive cases with 61, bringing the county-wide total to 879.
Since our last update 48 hours ago, Logan County has seen 14 new positive cases, Simpson has reported seven additional positive cases, Edmonson has six new cases, Barren has an additional five cases, Metcalfe has two new cases and Butler has reported one new case.
The good news is that across the WNKY viewing area, 478 Kentuckians have recovered from the virus, and that number continues to grow each and every day.
