Multi-agency pursuit ends in Warren County

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – One man has been arrested following a multi-agency police chase extending from Glasgow into Bowling Green.

According to police, just before 9 a.m. Tuesday morning, Glasgow police and Barren County deputies were in pursuit of a reportedly stolen 2004 Chevrolet pickup truck on the Cumberland Parkway.

The truck exited onto Interstate 65 and Kentucky State Police joined in the pursuit.

Officials deployed tire deflation devices two separate times, popping two tires on the truck.

The vehicle then exited at Exit 28 onto Louisville Road in Bowling Green where he hit a passenger car.

Shortly after, a Commercial Vehicle Enforcement sergeant executed a legal intervention, also know as a pit maneuver, on the truck.

One the vehicle came to a stop, the driver, Codie Dewitt, 23, of Louisville, was arrested.

Dewitt was taken to a hospital to be medically cleared before being lodged in a jail.

Dewitt has been charged with a slew of charges including wanton endangerment of a police officer, assault and fleeing or evading police.

One person from the passenger car struck by the truck was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
