McGrath makes campaign stop at WKU, talks about importance of voting
BOWLING GREEN Ky.- As part of her ongoing voter education and campaign efforts, retired Marine Lt. Col. Amy McGrath traveled to four regional universities Saturday with Western Kentucky University being the final stop.
McGrath is a Democrat running against Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for U.S. Senate.
At WKU, McGrath spoke to students about the importance of voter registration, and why it’s important for a younger generation of voters to go out and exercise their rights. State Rep. Patti Minter was also in attendance.
The other universities McGrath visited included Morehead State University, Eastern Kentucky University and Murray State University.
The deadline to register to vote in Kentucky is 4 p.m. Oct. 5. Kentuckians may now request their ballot by mail, and early voting starts Oct. 13.
