Massive Brush Fire in Butler County Contained; Cause Under Investigation
BUTLER COUNTY, Ky. (WNKY) – A large brush fire that burned several acres in Butler County prompted a multi-agency response Sunday afternoon, according to local officials.
Butler County Emergency Management Director Dustin Embry said more than 20 fire departments responded to the blaze, which drew assistance from neighboring counties and state forestry crews. Units from Hadley, Hartford, Rosine-Ohio County and Caneyville were among those dispatched to the scene on Doolin Lake Road.
According to the Warren County Fire Department System, they were dispatched before 4:30pm to the fire, which had over 100 acres involved at the time.
Officials say the fire was reported during the afternoon and quickly grew, requiring a coordinated response that included out-of-county resources.
Despite the scale of the fire, no major injuries have been reported.
Embry said the fire is now contained, and crews continue to monitor the area. The cause remains under investigation and has been turned over to the Kentucky Division of Forestry.
A precise dispatch time was not immediately available, but officials say that information is expected to be released later.
