Man wanted for child sexual exploitation offenses arrested in Portland

PORTLAND, Tenn. – The Portland Police Department arrested a man wanted for child sex crimes Friday.

According to PPD, officers responded to an alert by Portland’s Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) system. The system indicated that a registered owner of a vehicle had active arrest warrants.

Officers say that after confirming the information, they identified and arrested Anthony Walker. Walker had seven active warrants for sexual exploitation of a minor by electronic means in Rutherford County, Tennessee.

Walker was lodged at the Sumner County Jail before being transferred to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation is ongoing.
