Man pleads guilty in shooting death of wife
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The husband of a popular former bar owner, pleaded guilty Wednesday to first-degree manslaughter in the Jan. 3, 2018 shooting death of his wife, Betty Lasley, who at that time was the former owner of her namesake pub, Betty’s Bar.
Ernest Lasley, Jr. pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter for shooting his wife inside her 200 Shaker Mill Bend Road home.
Warren County Commonwealth’s Attorney Chris Cohron asked for a 10-year sentence with no parole eligibility until Lasley, 73, has served at least 85 percent of his sentence, Cohron said.
Prior to the 2018 shooting, Ernest Lasley was convicted in 2011 of domestic assault against Betty Lasley, according to Warren Circuit Court records.
Due to Lasley’s health, the hearing was held at the Kentucky State Reformatory in La Grange, Ky.
