Man found dead, Barren man charged with murder

The body of Kevin Michael Miller, 40, of Scottsville was found early Sunday morning on Lick Branch Road in Barren County with an apparent bullet wound. 

The Barren County Sheriff’s Office called Kentucky State Police at about 4 a.m. after a passing motorist reported a dead body, KSP Post 3 Trooper Jeremy Hodges said.

Detectives processed the scene and later arrested Bobby Conaster, 52, who also lives on Lick Branch Road, Hodges said.

Conaster is accused of using a shotgun to shoot Miller in the back after the two got into a fight, according to a release from KSP.

Conaster is charged with murder and was lodged in the Barren County Detention Center.
