Lost River Cave closed for COVID-19, but work goes on
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Lost River Cave is known for its natural beauty and serenity. With the outbreak of COVID-19, even the park has been quieter than normal. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t work going on at the park.
Park operations manager Chad Singer says upkeep at Lost River is a never-ending process. He says employees have been busy working to restore the area by removing invasive species of vegetation.
And with Earth Week being postponed, that means no volunteers, which has resulted in fewer hands to help.
But even with Lost River’s temporary closure, the park crew has been working to let nature lovers experience the nature of the park in other ways such as an online class being offered Saturday, April 11.
