Local teen swims in Olympic qualifying trials
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Warren County native and recent Greenwood High School graduate swam in the qualifiers for the 2020 Olympics this past weekend.
According to a board member for Racequatics, Luke Shourds, 18, swam a 64.56 and earned 74th in the men’s 1 breaststroke at the quadrennial Omaha event that features the fastest 1300 swimmers in the country.
Shourds is the first Warren County swimmer to qualify for trials as a high school student.
According to the board member, Luke described his week in Omaha as a great experience and highly motivating.
