Local NAACP Chapter Receives Donation

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green/Warren County branch of the NAACP is receiving a donation from a local family, with the money going to aid area students.

The Martin family of Bowling Green recently donated $25,000 to the Kentucky State Conference of the NAACP. From that amount, $12,500 will go to the Bowling Green/Warren County chapter.

The money will be divided into five $2,500 scholarships for undergraduate or graduate college students majoring in criminal justice reform, human rights or social justice related academic fields.

The branch’s president, Ryan Dearbone, is thankful for the generous donation and believes it will really help.

The Martin family, which owns several auto dealerships, said the donation is given to honor the lives of victims killed by racial lynching.
