Local hotel program for senior shut ins a big success and still running
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Staffers at a hotel in Bowling Green say their initiative to give back to seniors who are shut-in during the coronavirus outbreak has been a big success so far.
The Kentucky Grand Hotel began delivering care packages to area seniors last Monday in an initiative called “The Stay Strong Care Package Program.”
The packages include items such as a crossword puzzle book, a roll of toilet paper, tissues, a deck of cards, disinfectant wipes, prepackaged snacks, a book, a personal card from hotel staff and more.
After many people in the area learned about the program reported on WNKY, more donations came in.
Dozens of packages have already been delivered to seniors and Zack Strachan, the hotel’s general manager, says they still have dozens more to distribute.
Those interested in receiving the packages, or contributing items or resources to be included in them, can call the Kentucky Grand Hotel at (270) 779-8988 or email Management@kentuckygrand.com.
