Local church shows love to the community

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -Over the past few weeks, many people have found themselves out of work. And even though unemployment assistance might be available, one local organization is concerned that may not be enough.

Members of Crossland Community Church in Bowling Green are putting together bags of various foods to be distributed to the community as part of their “Love Local” mission. The bags will contain non-perishable items like pasta, bread and cereal.

Donors can turn in their bags of food at the Warren County Board of Education parking lot Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Joel Hawkins of Crossland Community Church says he’s excited to be making a difference in the Bowling Green community.

Crossland Community Church asks that you pack the bags in your trunk and simply open the trunk and a volunteer will collect the bags. They say they want to make it easy to practice social distancing so you don’t even have to get out of your car.
