Lisa Rice Library to operate cooling center amid high temperatures

WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – As a result of this week’s high temperatures, the Warren County Public Library says it will operate a cooling center at Lisa Rice Library to provide a safe, air-conditioner space to escape the heat.
Organizers say the cooling center will be open Tuesday, June 30 through Friday, July 3 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in meeting room No. 1 at Lisa Rice Library at 1225 State St.
The library says guests will have access to ice water, frozen treats, seating and a rotating selection of family-friendly movies.
While all Warren County Public Library locations remain open during their regular business hours, the cooling center will provide a dedicated space for visitors to stay cool without concerns of blocking high-traffic areas or restrictions on personal belongings that could apply elsewhere in library buildings, organizers say.
The cooling center is free and open to the community.
