Labor Day at Barren River Lake
BARREN COUNTY, Ky. – People flocked to Barren River Lake in Barren County to soak up the sun and cool off in the waters this Labor Day.
Matt Noble came with his father-in-law early in the day and saw that the beach was calm and relatively empty, but when they returned later in the day, the beach and adjacent peninsula had filled up. Noble and his family still had a good time hanging out by the water.
“We just got here a few minutes ago, but the water feels wonderful. It’s not too cold, not too hot and it’s a great way to escape some of the warm temps we’ve been having recently,” Noble said.
Laurelee Zola and her husband decided to go to the lake after visit Ruby Branch Farm’s sunflower maze. The warm day and light clouds made for a great day to spend outside.
“It’s sunny, it’s beautiful. And we just wanted to swim. It feels great. Yeah. I’m here with my husband, Siobhan, and, yeah, we’re having a good time,” Zola said.
