KYCTC announces Simpson County road closure

FRANKLIN, Ky. – A long-term road closure will begin next week.

On Thursday, Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 3 announced that the project to rehabilitate the concrete section on KY 100 in the City of Franklin in Simpson County will begin next week.

Officials expect a 21-day closure starting Tuesday, May 28.

The road will close between U.S. 31-W (mile point 9.7) and KY 1008 (mile point 10.7).

Motorists will use a detour on KY 1008.

Officials say the closure is necessary for the contractor. This will allow for the next phase of rehabilitating the concrete roadway on KY 100 from the bridge over the railroad track to U.S. 31-W.
