Kosair for Kids inclusive playground opens in Allen County

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – A new inclusive playground is now open, giving children of all abilities a place to play.

A ribbon-cutting was held Monday Sept. 21, at Fred Hale Park to celebrate the new Kosair for Kids inclusive playground.

The playground features wheelchair-accessible equipment, sensory boards and adaptive swings for children with disabilities.

Kosair for Kids contributed $150,000 toward the project’s $350,000 cost.

“I think this gives them an opportunity to play together, talk about their dreams and things like that. It’s a very good deal to have children of all abilities here playing together,” said Allen County Judge Executive Dennis Harper. “They can learn how to play with kids who have disabilities, and I think it’s a win-win for our kids here in Allen County.”
