BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Kentucky State Police has been busy responding to road accidents as winter weather continues in Kentucky.

KSP Post 3 public affairs officer trooper Katan Parker says Post 3 has responded to 33 traffic collisions within the past 24 hours. In addition, Parker says they have provided assistance to 17 drivers.

He says troopers are “undertaking significant efforts to maintain safety on the roadways.”

Parker also wants to provide a reminder to drivers as they travel in this weather.

He says, “It is important that motorists refrain from leaving their vehicles unattended on the side of the road.”

Parker says under normal circumstances, drivers can leave their vehicle up to six hours before it will be removed. However, due to current weather conditions, any unattended vehicles will be removed promptly to allow road crews to effectively clear and maintain roadways.
