Jury finds Jackie Mutter of Allen County not guilty of murder
UPDATE: Jury reaches a not guilty verdict for Jackie Mutter for a murder charge.
SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – A jury is deliberating in a case against an Allen County man charged with murder in the 2017 shooting death of Wendell O. Jackson.
According to Commonwealth Attorney Corey Morgan, Jackie Mutter sat before a jury over the past week after pleading not guilty to a murder charge.
Jackson, 38, was found dead in his home on Hade Bell Road on January 7, 2017.
Mutter was arrested in April of 2019, after deputies say they executed search warrants at multiple residences.
Morgan says the defense is claiming self-defense because Mutter was shot in the arm first but the attorney says prosecution charged Mutter with murder because the fatal bullet that killed Jackson was a shot in the back.
