Jackson’s Orchard is open for the fall season

BOWLING GREEN, KY. – A Warren County favorite fall venue is back open and locals are already getting into the autumn spirit.

When asked what she liked most about fall, Lawsyn Lyons, a young girl visiting the orchard Wednesday said, “That I get to go to Jackson’s Orchard!”

It’s a great place for a local outing supporting a local business and having some fun in the sun before the cold weather of winter rolls in.

With a kids playground, fall foods, a hayride to a pumpkin patch, and other activities and food people were enjoying the tastes and sights of fall a little early Wednesday afternoon.

“Especially the Cider Slider, they really enjoy the slide of it. The food is always really good here. I love the fried apple pies. I love the fall scene. It’s just gorgeous out here,” said Chelsea Harkness, a visitor at the orchard.

Some orchard goers told WNKY about some of their favorite things to do at Jackson’s Orchard.

“Well I like the spinny things because, uhm, they make you feel like you’re flipping,” said Lyons.

“Young kids can ride the wagons and pumpkins and the big slides they have and everything and watch the kids play and enjoy it,” said William Birge, a visitor at the orchard.

This year, Jackson’s is opening hayrides, pick your own apples, and the pumpkin patch on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays starting next week until the end of October.

The reason? To allow everyone to enjoy the orchard but with smaller crowds spread throughout the days, according to orchard manager Jonathan Price.

“It’s a fun place to come. You can do something you’ve never done before or you can only do once a year or once every once in a while. I hope that people just enjoy themselves. The slogan is, ‘come make a memory’ and we really hope that is true,” said Price.

Jackson’s asks guests to wear a mask inside the shop and on hayrides, but masks are not required when outside otherwise.
