In-person early voting begins Tuesday
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The general election is getting close and you cannot request an absentee ballot for the 2020 election anymore, but Tuesday morning begins early in person voting in Kentucky.
SkyPAC is the only location for early voting in Warren County.
To enter the building, masks and social distancing will be required.
Lynette Yates, the Warren County Clerk, asks folks remain socially distant while preparing to vote.
“All of our voting, where you mark your ballot, is six-feet apart. They are all socially distanced apart. We’ll be wiping down after every voter,” said Yates.
The best places to park to vote are in Circus Square Park or in the SOKY Marketplace.
Yates said the line should wrap around the side of the building from the marked entrance toward the SOKY Marketplace and everyone in line should remain six feet apart.
There will be a separate entrance for those who want to drop off their absentee ballots at SkyPAC.
You can drop off your absentee ballots at the county clerk’s officer as well.
In most other surrounding counties, in person early voting will take place in the county clerk’s office.
In Barren County, County Clerk Helena Chase Birdwell said her team is ready to adapt to the voting needs of the community to ensure a successful election process.
“A lot of folks that are choosing to vote early or are talking about voting early because they are concerned with lines. I think having voting go on for three full weeks is going to give people enough days and they can come in when it’s convenient for them and hopefully here in the office we can manage that,” said Chase Birdwell.
Early voting at SkyPAC will begin at 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday for the next three weeks as well as Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon.
As usual, Election Day the polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at multiple precincts around the county.
