Scared smile: Baylor’s Richards recovers from spinal injury

WACO, Texas (AP) — Baylor guard DiDi Richards has made an incredible recovery from a preseason practice injury that left her temporarily paralyzed. Richard says it was a long process, and she didn’t know when she would be OK. But the senior is the Big 12 leader in assists and a key leader for the conference-leading and eighth-ranked Lady Bears. Richards was hurt after a midair collision with a teammate October 24. She was back on the court in a game 38 days later after missing only the season opener. Teammate NaLyssa Smith calls her a fighter.
