GENEVA (AP) — Russia’s team and athletes will be officially branded as “ROC” at the next two Olympics. The team name is an acronym for Russian Olympic Committee. The International Olympic Committee made the decision in agreement with the World Anti-Doping Agency following a case against Russia involving a state-backed doping program. The new name avoids the word “neutral.” WADA had insisted that word must balance any use of “Russia” on team uniforms or equipment. Russia’s flag will be the ROC logo. The medal ceremony music has not yet been decided.
