Koepka falls short, ties for 2nd at PGA with Oosthuizen

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. (AP) — Brooks Koepka allowed Phil Mickelson to get away from him at the PGA Championship. The four-time major champion settled for his third runner-up finish in a major. He shot a final-round 74 to match Louis Oosthuizen at 4-under 284, two shots behind Mickelson. Oosthuizen had his fifth runner-up in a major. Koepka grabbed the lead with a birdie on the first hole but gave it back with a double bogey on the par-5 second. He had plenty of chances but never led again. Then he took some shots to his surgically repaired right knee while trying to separate himself from the gallery that swarmed him and Mickelson on the 18th hole.
