INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Jimmie Johnson turned the oval races on his IndyCar schedule over to Tony Kanaan. He has watched preparation for the Indianapolis 500 as a member of the NBC Sports broadcast crew. His view from the sidelines has only increased his desire to test an Indy car on an oval. Kanaan has joked that Johnson is going to take the No. 48 away from him. The arrangement has worked well so far and Kanaan is considered a favorite to win Sunday’s race.
