JERUSALEM (AP) — The March of the Living is saluting medical heroes this year. The annual Holocaust education event is usually marked with a march on the grounds of the former Auschwitz death camp, run by Germany, in Poland. But for a second straight year it is being held virtually due to the coronavirus pandemic. The event includes a special moral courage award for Dr. Anthony Fauci, U.S. President Joe Biden’s chief medical adviser. The March of the Living coincides with Israel’s annual Holocaust remembrance day. Sirens wailed across Israel Thursday morning as cars and pedestrians came to a standstill for two minutes to remember the 6 million Jewish victims of the Holocaust.
