Former F1 drivers see European interest growing in IndyCar

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Fernando Alonso helped make IndyCar racing cool again for Formula One drivers with his participation in the Indianapolis 500 starting in 2017. It helped bring Pietro Fittipaldi and Romain Grosjean, teammates last year on the Haas F1 team, to Dale Coyne Racing. It helped Marcus Ericsson secure a ride with Chip Ganassi Racing.  Ericsson says he believes interest continues to grow in America’s top open-wheel series among Formula One drivers.
