Column: Nicklaus has plenty of advice for anyone who asks

DUBLIN, Ohio (AP) — Jack Nicklaus has plenty of advice to offer players as long as they’re willing to ask. Nicklaus was holding court Tuesday ahead of his Memorial Tournament. As always, he covered a range of stories, from major championship courses where he struggled to how closely he pays attention to the game today. Nicklaus says he often sees flaws creep into a player’s game. But he isn’t willing to weigh in unless the player asks him. He spoke for close to an hour from behind the microphone and in a more casual setting. Some 16 years after he stopped playing, he’s still a relevant voice in golf.
