Hope Harbor among recipients of 2023 VOCA Grant
BOWLING GREEN Ky. – Hope Harbor has received funding from the Victims of Crime Act for another year Governor Andy Beshear announced this week.
Hope Harbor will use the funding to continue offering their free crisis counseling and school programs among other things for the fiscal year. Other groups such as Barren River Area Safe Space and Barren River Area Child Advocacy Center also received funding under the act allowing the robust group of servicers to victims of crimes and sexual violence to continue their work in the SOKY area.
“With the VOCA funding, we will actually provide about 93% of all of our counseling services through that grant, as well as our education services and it’s probably around 50% of our services to the general to the general population here in in the Barren River Development District.” Melissa Whitley, Executive Director of Hope Harbor said.
