HABG WROTE Foundation Annual Roast & Toast

For the past eighteen years the W.R.O.T.E., Inc. has been serving children who live in and around public housing by providing academic and social assistance to low-income children. At present we serve 90 students throughout the school year and 130 during the summer term, all with very limited funding; providing after-school care, tutoring, academic enrichment, one-on-one reading assistance and computer training. Our students receive instruction from classroom instructors, compliments of the W.K.U. College of Education and the National America Reads Program. Our current staffing consistent of W.K.U. students, recent graduates and experienced educators, who dedicate their time to mentoring and educating students throughout year. This year’s Roast & Toast honoring Mrs. Amy Hale Milliken will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at the Corvette Museum located at 350 Corvette Drive. The proceeds from this event will help fund the 2014 – 2015 After School Program.
