Gov. Beshear to pay tribute to fallen officers at annual event
RICHMOND, Ky. – The governor will pay tribute to fallen officers.
On Tuesday, June 4, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear will pay tribute to Scott County Sheriff’s Deputy Caleb Conley and nine historical honorees at the annual Law Enforcement Ceremony. The event will be held in Richmond at the Department of Criminal Justice Training located on the campus of Eastern Kentucky University. The ceremony will begin at 9 am CDT.
Conley was shot and killed while conducting a traffic stop in Georgetown in 2023.
“It is an honor each year to join Kentucky families in remembering their loved ones who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the commonwealth – an honor I do not take lightly,” said Gov. Beshear. “We made a promise that we will never forget these brave Kentucky heroes who gave their lives to make our communities safer, and it is a promise we have kept.”

Noah R. Friend, U.S. Marshal, end of watch Nov. 13, 1963.
The Kentucky Law Enforcement Memorial monument will hold 589 names after this year’s additions.
