Glasgow police to conduct traffic safety checkpoints throughout September

GLASGOW, Ky. – The Glasgow Police Department says it will be conducting traffic safety checkpoints throughout the month of September.

According to the department, the checkpoints will take place through Sept. 30 within city limits.

Authorities say checkpoint locations may include but are not limited to Columbia Avenue, West Main Street, North Jackson Highway and Happy Valley Road.

Police say the checkpoints promote highway safety and may identify those driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Authorities say other traffic concerns may be addressed during the checkpoints as well, including driver licensing, seat belt and child restraint compliance and other concerns.

Drivers encountering a checkpoint are asked to use caution and follow officers’ directions, according to the department.
